The new way of doing business

Why do we try to portray that we are busier than the next person?

We are all busy and we should all respect each other’s time. I believe that sometimes we bite off more than we can chew, we’ve all been there, and we’ve all been over our heads, trying to tackle too many projects. They say residual income is the secret to massive success, which to a certain point is the complete truth; the wealthy have money coming in from all kinds of different ventures but to be fair they have an immensely diverse team working for them. Most times we are only one person trying to jungle 10+ projects which then leads them to failure. We must find a balance between multiple ventures & spreading ourselves too thin, because stress is a life & income killer!

Why do we try and complicate simple concepts?

Is it to make ourselves feel more important? I am not singling anyone out, I have done this in the past, and I think we’ve all have but I do believe that in the marketing world this issue is magnified. At The Mark we’ve really made an effort to simplify or dumb down for lack of better words our lingo for clients to understand & to grasp the simple yet effective concepts we present. Most marketing companies bill per hour, this leads to “gibberish” lingo & extending the billing hours on a simple project.

Do we need a meeting for that?

This issue again arises from the question above, are we just meeting to seem like we are doing more work? I am a person who gets things done, I don’t need to talk about something 10x I don’t need a meeting, I want results and I need them as quickly as possible as I am already on to the next project. It seems that in business today we need a meeting for everything, and decisions seem to take longer to make. I believe to be truly successful we must all be results driven, work together, have more accountability and worry about our own tasks at hand.

If we all stopped trying to look busier & sound smarter, we would all get more accomplished.
