By March 8, 2023Blogposts

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8th to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide. It is also a day to raise awareness about the ongoing struggle for gender equality and to advocate for women’s rights.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” but previous themes have included “Choose to Challenge” (2021), “Each for Equal” (2020), “Balance for Better” (2019), “Press for Progress” (2018), and “Be Bold for Change” (2017).

The day has been observed since the early 1900s, and its roots can be traced back to the suffragette movement and the fight for women’s right to vote. Today, International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world and is recognized as an important day for promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
