Five Pointers for Writing Pinned Posts That Show Up In People’s Feeds

Don’t be afraid to show your personality

People love hearing from you and they are more than happy to give you the opportunities to show them who you are. If you keep it simple, you will stand out among your peers and you will be given the opportunity to share what you love and what you are interested in.

Use authentic content

Your pinned post should feel like it is created by you and not by a business or a person. Make sure your content is authentic to the best of your ability. If you are not really sure where to start when it comes to creating content for your pins, there are a few general rules you can use to spark some ideas:

  • Start with your interests. What are the things that make you happy? What is the pastime that you enjoy or the food that makes you hungry?
  • Think about your passions. What are the hobbies that you enjoy doing?
  • Once you have your content set, try to keep it as unbiased as possible.

Use authentic content

You can’t just throw random pictures on Pinterest and call it a day. Your pinned posts should be unique and interesting in their own right.

Be yourself and don’t try to be famous

There is no need to try to be famous or become a vernacular icon. You already are one because you are reading this blog and you are incredibly lucky to be able to call yourself a blogger. And while we are on the topic of being yourself, don’t try to impress people by wearing expensive clothes, carrying a expensive handbag or eating expensive food. People will think you are lying to them and you will come off like a pretentious asshole.

Use humour and share some wine tips

Part of the authenticity of your post lies in how well-rounded and relatable your content is. Using humour to bring your content to life and make people smile will go a long way in helping you stand out from the rest.

If you have been hesitant about trying out pinning for a while or you’ve even pin failed miserably in the past, these tips can help you from going 0 for 1. Create a Pinterest account if you haven’t done so already and start pinning away. Once you get a feel for the site, you will have no problem finding new ideas. Don’t be afraid to share your favourite recipes, crafts, or other DIY projects on Pinterest. Your pinned posts should be exciting, interesting, and full of personality.
