By December 3, 2015Blogposts

Ever notice how local lists always have some biased opinion, based on the newest restaurants as they are more likely to dish out some advertising dollars?! I love to eat and you would probably already know that if you follow me on Snapchat. Edmonton has some great restaurants, I’m going to give you the very best of the best, an array of different cultures to choose from! Have fun on your next date night!

Coming in at number ten is no stranger to Edmonton; it’s one of the longest running top shelf Japanese restaurants in the city as it’s been around since 1972! They have unbelievable steak & seafood and they give you a show as they cook right in front of you on a flat grill, cracking jokes & flipping knives.

This is one of two supper clubs on my list, I was more than pleasantly surprised the first time I had dinner there; I wasn’t expecting this kind of greatness with food & atmosphere. It has a very cool vibe, very trendy yet old fashioned, and it’s a hipper, louder crowd, with a menu that frequently changes.

This is a cozy little house turned into one of Edmonton’s best brunches, with freshly squeezed orange juice, great eggs benedict & a breakfast burger that’s to die for, literally. Don’t put this place only on your breakfast list, because this quaint, sophisticated restaurant also has a great dinner menu.

This isn’t the fanciest of places but it is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the city, and it also turns into a Latin club at night. You truly feel like you are in Mexico when you walk into the room, its authentic decorations, Latin staff, & friendly service will make you feel like dancing the night away to their Mariachi!

I know what you are thinking, “I’m craving sushi”… Coming in at number seven is also one of Shonn Obrowski’s favourite restaurant, who is one of Edmonton’s best chefs. All the fish is as fresh & delicious as could be and it’s prepared exactly the way it was meant to be. Sushi is an old art form and this is one of Edmonton’s best sushi restaurants, don’t worry about the decor.

One of Edmonton’s newest restaurants on the list is a small room with huge taste buds. I’ve eaten at a lot of great restaurants around the world but Chef Rosario Caputo makes the best meatballs I’ve ever had! If you’re a fan of a great Italian meal, have dinner at this place and don’t forget to have some olives!

One of my all-time favourites, it’s a small, family owned Italian restaurant, with perfectly prepared authentic ingredients & recipes from the old country! The atmosphere is like you’re having dinner at your European friend’s house with Angelo and Joe the father & son duo making you feel at home! Try the escargot, the bruschetta, the chicken Marsala, the penne & sausage, OH! I can go on!

The only real fine dining experience in Edmonton, it has been a staple piece in the Edmonton downtown core for 17 years, it by far the best restaurant in the city, with culinary masterpieces, and the best wine list & prices in the city.
